Adult Acne
Acne is commonly associated with people in their teens but adult acne is not as uncommon. In fact reports suggest that 50 percent of women and 25 percent of men suffer from this condition once in their life. It does not matter whether you are 22 or 62, you may be prone to developing adult acne at any point in your life.
Causes of Adult Acne
As they say prevention is better then cure so you can somewhat prevent acne through measure except if it happens because of hormonal changes which should not be interfered with. Although the exact reason for acne in adults remains unknown, current research is finding that acne is caused when
- Bacteria flourish within the hair follicle
- An oil-releasing blockage develops in the skin
- Enlarged sebaceous oil glands overproduce oil
- Adult acne is most often caused by genetic and hormonal changes.
- Blockages of bacteria and oil can build, leading to adult acne problems including
- pimples, inflammation, cysts, and scarring. Adult acne most often appears on the face; however, it can appear on the arms, legs, buttocks, and torso.
It is imperative to keep a healthy skin for which you should maintain high level of hygiene and keep the skin healthy through moisturizers and creams made for the purpose.
The skin should also not be exposed to sunlight and high humidity as sun exposure can not only damage the skin but also play a part in the overproduction of skin oil.
Treatment. Eating a well balanced diet can also play its for the skin being acne free.
